The UT System Board of Trustees is a 12-member board that oversees the educational and operational activities of the statewide university system.
Dr. Yancy Freeman is currently serving as the Chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Martin. The Chancellor’s Cabinet members serve as the chancellor’s senior leadership team. The cabinet meets on alternating weeks to discuss matters related to academic affairs, finance and administration, student affairs, access and engagement, university advancement, communications and marketing, athletics, economic development, information technology, and multicultural affairs.
The UT Martin Advisory Board is comprised of five public members, one faculty member and one student member. The Advisory Board meets quarterly to discuss university proceedings.
The UT Martin Faculty Senate represents faculty. The committees present faculty views to the administration on budgetary matters that affect the educational function of the institution.
UT Martin is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
With more than 20 sports and over 500 athletes, Skyhawk Athletics is a big part of the UT Martin community.
The UT Martin Skyhawks compete in the NCAA Division I Ohio Valley Conference, the Ozark Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association and Eastern College Athletic Conference in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association.
Since UT Martin joined the Division I ranks in 1992, 12 different sports programs have combined for 63 conference or regional championships. Since 2009 alone, 11 separate UT Martin programs have combined to win 38 conference or regional titles.
