All vehicles operated by faculty, staff, and students in connection with their employment or attendance at UT Martin must be registered with the Department of Public Safety. For purposes of these regulations, a vehicle is operated by a faculty member, staff member, or student if it is used to transport that person to or from the UT Martin campus. This requirement includes residents of University Courts Apartments who use university parking lots.

Registration improves campus security, identifies the vehicle operator as affiliated with the university, and allows more expedient notification in the event of an emergency.

Parking permits must be displayed inside the vehicle at the bottom of the driver’s side of the front windshield. A permit may be used in another vehicle driven by the permit holder, but permits may not be transferred from one person to another.

Faculty and Staff Parking Permits

The Board of Trustees has approved new parking permit rates for the 2026–2027 academic year. Beginning with Fall 2026 permits, faculty and staff may choose either a yearly permit or a semester permit.

Permits will be available in early August.

Yearly Permit — $100

Valid August 15, 2026, through August 15, 2027.

The yearly permit includes the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 sessions.

Fall Semester Permit — $60

Valid August 15, 2026, through December 15, 2026.

Spring Semester Permit — $60

Valid January 15, 2027, through August 15, 2027.

The spring semester permit also includes the Summer 2027 session. A summer-only parking permit will no longer be available.

Faculty and staff who need parking access during both the fall and spring semesters should purchase the yearly permit.
